  
The compact Scan-Spectrometer RS 800 revolutionizes automatic measurements of densities and dot gains on any print control strip, color wedge or test chart. Operation is easy. The ergonomically designed measurement device fits securely in your hand. Quickly glide it over the print test strip. The different measuring fields and their position on the control strip are automatically recognized. Tracking wheels on the bottom of the device ensure a secure and straight run. On large format print sheets, the RS 800 is slid along a guiding track.
When measuring an image, the instrument is guided from a defined starting point to a select point in the image with high repetitive accuracy. This permits precise determination of gray and color balance on exactly the same spot in the image. It’s just as easy to obtain a density profile of color gradings. The high measurement rate of eight measurements per millimeter guarantees accurate measuring results, even with very small color patches.
The Scan-Spectrometer RS 800 is especially designed for measuring spot colors thanks to its high-resolution spectral engine. The instrument can also be used as a standard handheld device for single measurements by positioning the instrument on the color field and depressing the measuring button. Measuring on printing plates is just as easy.
